Each Lone Star leaded stained glass window panel is custom hand-crafted - from the beveled star, painted glass, hand crafted mesquite frame to the hand forged twisted iron hooks. The mesquite frame is joined together using traditional hand mortised and tenon joinery (no machines) and pegged with walnut pegs for an attractive accent. The hand forged hooks are made by a blacksmith using a coal fired forge, hammer and anvil. The unique one piece shape of the Lone Star is cut from 3/8" thick clear glass. The sharpness of the stars angles are very difficult to cut and bevel without breakage. In fact only one out of three stars on average is sucsessfully cut and beveled.
