Surveying
SGS offers window-surveying services for historic windows. The survey process includes:
• Digital photos of stained glass windows in situ, both from inside and outside
• Condition study and report of each individual window, noting damage, current window condition, name of studio that made the window, age and history
• Size and measurements
• Map and layout of windows in building
In doing the survey SGS can give an estimated replacement cost of windows. Surveys are given in printed form and on a CD, to be stored away from the building in case of a fire or disaster.
