Jordan Stanton operates Stanton Hot Glass Studio, the newest addition under the SGS umbrella. Jordan’s interest in blowing glass began at a young age as he was influenced by the art around him and the creative people he worked with at SGS. He is excited about his future with this unique art form. Bending over the glory hole, spinning the pipe, Jordan breathes life into beautiful blown glass pieces– vases, bowls, and Christmas ornaments for the Christmas season. Most recently, he is developing techniques to incorporate hot glass with the stained glass light fixtures SGS designs.
Fused glass
Fusing glass is a process of arranging a variety of colors and shapes of glass in a mold and heating it up to high temperatures in a kiln. The result is the melting or fusing together of the pieces, producing an elegant, eclectic bowl, platter or any of a variety of other pieces. One popular fused vessel is the handkerchief vase. The vision behind this unique, colorful piece is the idea of dropping a silk handkerchief with a rock in the middle. This vase forms the shape the rippling silk would make.
